AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran's Foreign Minister who has traveled to New York to participate in the emergency session of the United Nations General Assembly on Palestine, met with the Secretary General of the United Nations and discussed the latest developments in the region and the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Iran's foreign minister has reiterated the Islamic Republic's support for the oppressed Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli regime's "bestial crimes."
At a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Friday in New York, to which the Iranian top diplomat has traveled to attend an extraordinary meeting, Amir Abdollahian said: "The Islamic Republic has placed consistent support for the Palestinian people's liberating struggle and resistance with the aim of complete realization of their human rights, among the substantive principles of its foreign policy."
Amir-Abdollahian repeated Tehran's vehement condemnation of Tel Aviv's ongoing genocide in the Palestinian territory of the Gaza Strip, which the occupying regime has brought under a relentless war for the past three weeks.
Earlier, Stephen Dujarric, the spokesperson of the United Nations, announced that the Secretary General of the United Nations is talking with all parties and effective countries to reduce tension in the region.
The death toll in Gaza since the start of Israeli aggression has reached over 7,400 with more than 20,500 wounded.
