Rabbi: Zionists do not represent Jewish people, want to 'obliterate' Palestinians

AhlulBayt News Agency: Zionists do not represent Judaism and that they seek to "obliterate" Palestinian people, a UK-based rabbi says amid relentless Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip that has killed more than 7,000 people.

This is according to Rabbi Ahron Cohen, a spokesperson for Neturei Karta in the United Kingdom, who made the remarks in an interview with IQNA Agency.

The comments come amid a devastating war that Israel has been waging against the besieged Gaza Strip since October 7, after the Gaza-based Palestinian resistance groups staged Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, a surprise attack into the occupied territories, in response to the Israeli regime’s intensified crimes against the Palestinian people.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the Israeli onslaught has so far killed over 7,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, while more than 15,000 people have been injured.

Here is the full text of the interview:

Q: We are witnessing that the Zionist regime kills Palestinian civilians while it claims to be defending itself. Why do you think these measures have not been met with a global reaction?

Cohen: Over the last 120 years or so the Zionists have been very successful with their propaganda in persuading the world (both Jewish and non-Jewish) that they represent the Jewish People. Consequently, any measure taken by the globe at large which is not to the Zionists’ liking, is deemed as anti-Semitism. Since the 2nd World War the western world is terrified of being labelled as anti-Semitic and the Zionists use this fear to the utmost to their advantage.

The fact is, however, that the Zionists do not represent the Jewish People, Zionism and Judaism are two differing and conflicting concepts and should not be conflated. Sadly, we are far from this being understood and accepted by the world at large.

The above explains why there has not been a global reaction.

Q: Why do you think the Zionist regime abuses religious issues and under the pretext of supporting Jews to kill Palestinian civilians?

Cohen: The above is all part of the Zionist aim of conquering and obliterating the Palestinian People.

Q: Why are human rights institutions still only observers of Israel's crimes in Gaza?

Cohen: They have no other practical choice under current circumstances.

Q: What is the view of the Jews towards the crimes of the Zionist regime in the UK?

Cohen: There are sadly varying opinions among Jews regarding Zionists. So, the answer to your question will depend on to which ‘camp’ any particular Jew belongs. Anyone belonging to the Zionist ‘camp’ will approve or excuse the Zionist deeds. Anyone not part of the Zionist ‘camp’ will firmly criticize those deeds.

Q: What do you think is the best way to end these tensions?

Cohen: The only way to end the tensions at this time would be a universal agreement to a total peaceful dissolution of the Zionist State of Israel to be replaced by a democratic State for all the occupants of Palestine, whether Jew, Arab or anyone else. Tensions would then cease immediately. Sadly, we appear to be far from this possibility at present but prayer to the A-lmighty can achieve at any time what may seem impossible. As happened for instance in South Africa and Communist Russia.
