The full text of this letter to Pope Francis is as follows:
His Excellency Pope Francis
The leader of the Catholic World
Sincerely,
It reminds us that the deadly disaster of the bombing of the Baptist Hospital and the Church of Saint Porphyrios in Gaza, which killed and injured a group of defenseless and oppressed people, was a cause of great sorrow and grief. I offer my sincere condolences to your Excellency and all the leaders of the churches of the world, as well as all Christians and God-worshippers.
The continuation of killing, violence and non-adherence to international principles, human and moral values, and disregarding the sanctities of religions and nations, is never in the interest of humanity.
Today, Israel practically declares that it does not respect any of the holy sanctities of religions, therefore, it is up to us religious scholars to stand up against these injustice and declare our disgust for these crimes against humanity.
Mosques, churches and synagogues and all religious temples are the manifestation of God's will, grace and wisdom on earth and have a special spiritual place in the hearts of believers.
I, while wishing health to that nobleman, and by praying for peace and justice throughout the world, I ask the Almighty God for the peace of the souls of the Christians and Muslims who were killed during these inhumane attacks, and I ask for your good prayers for the spread of goodness and blessings in the world.
Seyyed Abul Hassan Nawab
Dean of the University of Religions and Denominations, Qom
