One participant has locked themselves to a barrel to recite a Hebrew prayer for the victims of Israel’s relentless attacks. Others are displaying a large banner and signs in support of the Palestinian struggle.
The Pine Gap Facility is a US military base, which conducts surveillance and monitoring on behalf of the CIA, NSA and other US defence agencies.

The group blocked the facility’s main access road, preventing over 100 incoming workers and vehicles from accessing Pine Gap for 3 hours
"I won't remain silent while the Israeli government enacts genocide against the Palestinian people in the name of Judaism. We offer these mourning (20th October 2023) prayers to families in Gaza who have had multiple family members murdered in this genocide" - Gem, a Jewish Australian protestor who today blocked the single road leading into the Pine Gap Australian American joint surveillance facility which shares intelligence with Israel and is located 20km from Mparntwe/Alice Springs.
