AhlulBayt News Agency: The recent Al-Aqsa Flood Operation launched from Gaza took the Palestinian resistance against the Zionist regime to a new level, the president of the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (Mapim) said.
Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid made the remark in an address to a webinar titled “Al-Aqsa Storm from the Perspective of Muslim World’s Elites: The Issue of Palestine and Future Ahead.”
He attended the forum, which was held by IQNA on Wednesday, via videoconference.
Abdul Hamid said the operation boosted the self-confidence of Palestinians and others in the Muslim world.
It also proved that the Zionist regime is not invincible and that it can be defeated militarily with proper planning and organization, he stated.
This operation dealt a painful blow to Israel as the regime did not expect such an attack and its intelligence forces were taken by surprise and failed to confront it, the Malaysian Muslim figure said.
He added that the operation was a preemptive attack as the Palestinian resistance had come to the conclusion that a defensive strategy was no longer viable as the Zionists were increasing their pressures and aggression against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and elsewhere in occupied territories.
Gaza only acted in defense and it is the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to defend their rights and rise up to liberate their land that has been usurped by force, he underlined.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Abdul Hamid said the world must make its position regarding Israel clear and stand against its crimes and atrocities.
His remarks came after at least 500 people were killed in the Israeli air raid on al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza on Tuesday.
The actual death toll could be far higher since, according to the territory’s health ministry, “hundreds of victims are still under the rubble.”
World leaders, governments, organizations and rights groups have strongly condemned the attack.
Mohsen Rasoul al-Saffar, head of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at the Islamic University of Najaf, Iraq, was another speaker at the Wednesday webinar.
In his address, he said the flames of resistance against the occupation regime will continue to burn until the divine promise of the victory of the truth over falsehood is realized.
He referred to the Zionist regime’s crimes and its massacre of the Palestinian people, saying discord among Muslim countries has emboldened the occupation regime to continue such atrocities.
Al-Saffar condemned certain Muslim countries’ move to normalize ties with Israel, saying such measures help Tel Aviv to portray the situation as normal.
Israel does not seek peace but only wants to set the ground to secure its illegal settlement building projects and force Palestinians out of their lands without any reaction from Muslim and Arab countries, he stated.
But it will not achieve its objectives and the normalization project will end in failure as the resistance of the Palestinians is going to continue until the liberation of all Palestinian lands, he underscored.
Arafat Abdullah Abu Zayed, spokesperson for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad student association, also addressed the webinar from Gaza, saying the recent brilliant operation launched by the resistance forces against the Israeli regime showed the shaky nature of the occupation regime.
Abu Zayed said the surprise operation shattered the illusion of the Zionist regime’s invincibility and humiliated the occupation forces.
The Palestinian resistance managed to show the world and to the Arab and Muslim Ummah that defeating the Zionist regime is possible, he stated.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Abu Zayed underlined the role of universities and the media in promoting true accounts of the Islamic resistance and spreading opposition to concessions to the Zionist regime.
Manouchehr Mottaki, a former Iranian foreign minister, was the special guest of the webinar and delivered his speech live from IQNA’s studio.
Muhammad Ali Rezaei Isfahani, head of Quran and Hadith Complex at Al-Mustafa International University, also addressed the event virtually.
The themes of the event included the capacity of universities in the Islamic world to shed light on Israel's war crimes in Gaza, the role of academics in breaking the silence of international and human rights institutions regarding Israel's crimes, and the future of Western initiatives aimed at normalizing relations between some Muslim-majority countries and Israel.
