AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Referring to the importance of Brazil's position as the rotating chairman of the UN Security Council and one of the influential countries in BRICS, the President said, “Brazil is expected to play a role in establishing a ceasefire and stopping the attacks on Gaza, as well as being the voice of the international community to deal with unilateralism in the world and the Islamic Republic of Iran is also ready for participation and cooperation in this field”.

In a telephone conversation with Mr Lula da Silva, President of Brazil and President of the United Nations Security Council, on Tuesday evening, Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi said that the recent developments in Palestine and the implementation of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood by the Palestinian resistance groups are a reaction to the continued occupation of the Zionist Regime and widespread violations of the basic rights of Palestinians, including their right to life, and stated, “The criminal, insane and illegal actions of the Zionists against the oppressed people of Gaza will not only help to solve the problem, but will also intensify and expand the scope of conflicts to other parts of the region”.

The President stated that the Zionist Regime is taking revenge for its defeat against the civilians, especially the women and children of Gaza, and referred to the inhuman act of the Zionists in cutting off water and electricity and preventing the entry of fuel, food, and medicine into this region and said, “The quick cessation of the bombing of residential areas and the killing of oppressed women and children in Gaza, as well as the immediate lifting of the blockade of this area are what we emphasise”.

Dr Raisi described the actions of the Zionist Regime as a clear example of war crimes against humanity and emphasised the need for all countries to play a role in dealing with these actions.

Referring to the importance of Brazil's position as the rotating President of the UN Security Council and one of the influential countries in BRICS, the President said, “Brazil is expected to play a role in establishing a ceasefire and stopping the attacks on Gaza, as well as being the voice of the international community to confront unilateralism in the world and the Islamic Republic of Iran is also ready to participate and cooperate in this field”.

Dr Raisi emphasised the quick stop of the bombing and attacks on Gaza, the establishment of a ceasefire and the lifting of the blockade of Gaza as three basic and priority measures to control the situation in the region and emphasised the importance of helping the Palestinians, saying, “Even one hour delay in stopping the bombing of residential areas and demilitarisation and lifting the blockade of Gaza will cause irreparable damage to the region”.

The President also emphasised that thanks to the Resistance, the era of displacement of the Palestinian nation has ended.

In another part of this telephone conversation, Dr Raisi referred the relations between Iran and Brazil in the framework of BRICS and the importance of the role and position of the two countries in international relations as leading countries in maintaining and developing world peace, expressing hope that Tehran and Brasilia play a role in promoting peace and stability in the world by cooperating and mobilising diplomatic power.

In this conversation, Brazilian President Lula da Silva, while conveying his warm greetings to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the people of Iran, confirmed the positions of Dr Raisi about the causes of the crisis in Gaza and emphasised the need to immediately stop the attacks on Gaza, establish a ceasefire and reopen the crossings and the routes leading to Gaza to send humanitarian aid and relief to the wounded in this area.

The President of Brazil described the Zionist Regime’s policy of forced displacement of Gaza residents as impossible and unacceptable, stating that the Zionists attack defenceless women and children and destroy schools and hospitals under the pretext of targeting resistance groups, announcing that the draft resolution, which includes the views and priorities emphasised by the Islamic Republic of Iran, is ready for submission to the Security Council meeting.

Da Silva also expressed his satisfaction with the growing trend of Tehran-Brasília relations and assured that there is full will in his country to strengthen and develop relations with Iran in all fields.
