Resistance front fully prepared to counter Israeli warmongering: Iranian FM

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian says resistance is a legitimate defense to end the occupation of Palestine, saying the resistance front is fully prepared to respond to the Zionist regime’s warmongering.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian says resistance is a legitimate defense to end the occupation of Palestine, saying the resistance front is fully prepared to respond to the Zionist regime’s warmongering.

“According to our assessment, the resistance is fully prepared to respond to the Zionists' warmongering,” Amirabdollahian said in a phone conversation with his Tunisian counterpart, Nabil Ammar, on Monday.

The two diplomats discussed the latest developments in Palestine and the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, caused by ten days of incessant Israeli airstrikes and a full siege on the coastal enclave.

“We will continue our efforts to alleviate the humanitarian siege and provide humanitarian assistance, including sending medical and food aid through Egypt,” the Iranian foreign minister said.

He expressed hope that an upcoming summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, to which Iran has been invited, would send a strong message in support of the Palestinian people and calling for an end to Israeli atrocities in besieged Gaza.

Ammar, for his part, said Tunisia shared the same position with Iran regarding the Palestinian cause, and stressed the necessity of promptly ending the killing of innocent civilians in Palestine.

“The brutal actions of the Zionist regime do not align with any humane, legal, or historical standards. The organized massacre by this regime is unjustifiable, and the ongoing events in Gaza today undermine the credibility of countries that support this regime's positions,” he said.

More than 2,800 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli air strikes on Gaza, and nearly 11,000 others wounded. The strikes have primality targeted residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, including hospitals and mosques.

More than a million Palestinians have fled their homes ahead of an expected Israeli ground invasion of Gaza.
