Pres. Raisi: Gaza situation raises possibility of expanding scope of conflict to other fronts

The Iran's President described the approach of the Western countries and especially the United States in blindly supporting the Zionist Regime as an incentive for the Zionists to intensify and continue the genocide in Gaza and clarified, "The great disaster that is now occurring in the region is the result of the failed policies of the United States and other Western supporters of the Zionist Regime".

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Iran's President described the approach of the Western countries and especially the United States in blindly supporting the Zionist Regime as an incentive for the Zionists to intensify and continue the genocide in Gaza and clarified, "The great disaster that is now occurring in the region is the result of the failed policies of the United States and other Western supporters of the Zionist Regime".

Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, in a telephone conversation with Mr Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, on Monday afternoon, while expressing his satisfaction with the trend of expanding the interactions between the two countries in the economic and commercial fields, emphasised the need to accelerate the advancement of cooperation, especially in the fields of energy and transportation.

The President further evaluated Russia's positions in condemning the war crimes and genocide of the Zionist Regime in Gaza as positive and said, "Considering what is happening in Gaza, there is a possibility of expanding the scope of war and conflict to other fronts, and if this happens, it will be more difficult to control the situation. Therefore, we expect all countries and international organisations, including Russia, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, to play a more effective role in stopping the war crimes of the Zionist Regime".

Dr Raisi added, "The Zionist Regime is looking for crimes and genocide of defenceless civilians in Gaza with the aim of compensating for its humiliating defeat. Widespread and blind bombing and the use of heavy and unconventional weapons and equipment against residential areas on the one hand and forcing a large population to leave their homes and homelands on the other hand are definitely clear examples of crimes against humanity".

Pointing out that the leaders of the Zionist Regime are trying to link the root of the recent events to external causes, the President stated, "The root of these events should be sought in 75 years of oppression, crime, apartheid, killing and desecration of the residents and sanctities of the Palestinian people".

Dr Raisi also described the approach of the Western countries and especially the United States in blindly supporting the Zionist Regime as an incentive for the Zionists to intensify and continue the genocide in Gaza and clarified, "The great disaster that is now occurring in the region is the result of the failed policies of the United States and other Western supporters of the Zionist Regime".

Emphasising that stopping the attacks of the Zionist Regime as soon as possible today and lifting the blockade of Gaza should be the priority of all efforts related to the Palestinian issue, the President noted, "Iran's friendship and neighbourliness, along with the common positions of the two sides on the Palestinian issue, can be a suitable platform for consultation and establishing and strengthening peace and stability in the region".

Dr Raisi also responded to the Russian President's suggestion about Iran's role in stopping the conflicts and the participation of resistance groups in the political process, saying, "We have repeatedly announced the supporting Palestine is a priority of the political policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, but Resistance groups are independent in understanding and making decisions. Naturally, any action by resistance groups against Zionist aggression must be approved by everyone, because it is legitimate self-defence".

In this telephone conversation, Russian President Vladimir Putin also emphasised that Russia's analysis of the causes of the current crisis in Gaza is the same as Iran's, stating, "The extensive attacks of the Zionist Regime on a dense area where more than 2 million defenceless people live has no justification and it should be stopped as soon as possible".

The President of Russia stated that carrying out ground operations in Gaza has very heavy costs and effects in terms of military and humanitarian, and clarified, "Americans tried to advance their desired strategy to solve the Palestinian issue alone, but this solution has failed and Russia is also worried about the spread of the current conflict in Gaza to other areas".
