Restoration of a rare copy of Quran back to 1st Hijri century

The Egyptian National Library and Archives announced the restoration of an early Hijazi Holy Quran belonging to the 1st half of the first Hijri century.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Egyptian National Library and Archives announced the restoration of an early Hijazi Holy Quran belonging to the 1st half of the first Hijri century.
 
The Egyptian House of Books revealed the restoration steps of the Quran, considered one of the rarest and oldest copies in the world, as it consists of 32 pages: sixteen odd pages and eight even pages, written in iron ink.
 
According to a report published on the Egyptian Veto website, "The National Archives House in Fustat held a celebration on the occasion of the restoration entitled (The New Republic and the Preservation of Heritage). The ceremony started with presenting a documentary film about the Quran, its history, and the stages of its restoration.

The Restoration Centre at the House of Books also provided detailed steps for the stages. The restoration and binding were completely ended in the restoration laboratory at the Egyptian House of Books."
 
The report indicated: "Work on the Quran was carried out using the minimum humidity level, and the softening was done carefully and indirectly by placing the parchment between the material (Goretex)."
