Indonesian thinker: Islamic unity should address humanitarian issues in Muslim world

Norma Dewy, professor of the state Islamic University Ar-Raniry, in his remarks at the 15th webinar of the 37th Islamic Unity Conference highlighted the issue of Palestine among the most important issues in Muslim world.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Norma Dewy, professor of the state Islamic University Ar-Raniry, in his remarks at the 15th webinar of the 37th Islamic Unity Conference highlighted the issue of Palestine among the most important issues in Muslim world.

She condemned the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands and said,” The fact that Palestine is still under occupation puts the solidarity of Muslims under question.”

She expressed regret over the oppression of Muslims in India and the humanitarian situation under which they live as well as the poverty and crackdown challenging Muslims in China and Africa.

Norma Dewy stressed importance of solidarity among Muslims in order to resolve the different economic, education, cultural and political issues in future and noted that unity among Muslims will bring more hope towards future of the world of Islam.

She made the remarks in his speech at the 15th webinar of the 37th Islamic Unity Conference.

Held by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Muslim scholars and religious figures from across the globe exchanged views on the issues challenging the world of Islam in the 37th Islamic Unity Conference (IUC). Participants also discussed the theme of this meeting “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values.” The event is the climax of the Islamic Unity Week that marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
