AhlulBayt News Agency: Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought says 37th International Islamic Unity Conference aims to contribute to expansion of cooperation with other Muslim states, as is the objective of the Iranian administration.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, speaking at the press briefing ahead of the 37th Islamic Unity Conference said the Muslim experts and religious figures will exchange views on the Islamic values recommended in holy Qur’an.
He hailed the Iranian administration for expanding the cooperation with other Islamic countries, an achievement expected to boost security across the world of Islam.
The cleric added,” The regional and transregional agreements reached by the Islamic Republic of Iran has brough hopes for moving towards a unified Islamic nation.”
According to the scholar, the 37th volume of the annual conference on the theme “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values” pursues values that counter western liberalism and views man as an honored being.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari referred to the regional Islamic unity conferences, three of which already held as a means to involve more scholars from Iran and neighboring countries in the annual conference.
“Regional Islamic unity conferences facilitate involvement of more Muslim intellectuals, clerics and Friday prayer leaders in the meetings held throughout the year” said the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
According to the cleric the online meetings of the 37th Islamic Unity Conference will open on Thursday September 28th and 110 guests from across the world of Islam will attend the event in person on 1-3 October.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi will attend the opening ceremony of the conference which will be participated by 110 thinkers and top officials from 41 countries.
Two major meetings will also be held as part of the 37th Islamic Unity Conference the first of which to be attended by 110 Iranian thinkers and prayer leaders from across the country as they are expected to exchange views on the diversity of ethnical backgrounds in Iran and also commonalities leading to coexistence among them.
The second meeting will be attended by foreign participants where the final communique of the conference will be issued.
Cultural events including a book unveiling ceremony and a cultural exhibition will be held on the sideline of the six-day event.
