Shahcheragh shrine's terrorist attacker sentences to death

After holding three hearings in the first branch of the Shiraz Islamic Revolution Court, the main culprit in the Shahcheragh terrorist attack was sentenced to death.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): After holding three hearings in the first branch of the Shiraz Islamic Revolution Court, the main culprit in the Shahcheragh terrorist attack was sentenced to death.

40 days have passed since the terrorist attack on the pilgrims and attendants of the Holy Shrine of Shahcheragh (AS).

The Chief of Justice department of Fars province said: The first Accused in the case of the attack on the pilgrims and attendants of the Holy Shrine of Shahcheragh (AS) is Rahmat Elah Norozaf known as Mustafa Aslam Yar, a native of Tajikistan, who attacked the Holy Shrine of Shahcheragh on the evening of August 22 this year.

He was charged with Moharebeh "enmity against God", sedition, and collusion against Iran's security.

After going through the investigation process, issuing summons to trial and indictment in Shiraz Public Prosecutor's Office and Islamic Revolution and holding a 20-hour hearing in the first branch of the court.

The Shiraz Islamic Revolution sentenced him to death twice.

Kazem Mousavi stressed that the First Accused had been sentenced to death once for each of the charges proven in the court and said: "Considering that the defendants of the second and third tiers were unaware of the sinister intention of Rahmatullah Norozaf, the main perpetrator of the terrorist attack, and this has been established according to the investigation, and also the defense of their defense lawyers has been proven to the court panel; therefore, they were acquitted from these two titles.

The Chief of Justice of Fars province stated regarding the prison sentence issued for the accused in the second and third tiers:

"The mentioned convicts, according to their explicit confessions, by being a member of "Tablighi Jamaat" and explaining their presence in illegal assembly rituals are the intellectual and ideological background necessary to accept such actions. They have provided a criminal case that the court, in its verdict, while confirming the charges of participation in the community and collusion with the intention of disrupting the security of the country, sentenced each of the defendants to 5 years of imprisonment and deportation from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He stated that the First accused in the second and third tiers were also acquitted by the court of the charge of assisting in "war and corruption in the land", he said: Considering that the defendants in the second and third tiers were unaware of the sinister intention of Rahmatullah Norozaf, the main cause of the terrorist attack, and this has been done according to the investigation and also the defense of their lawyers has been proven for the court panel, so they were acquitted of these two accusations.

The second terrorist attack on the holy shrine of Shahcheragh (AS) took place on the evening of August 13, 2023.

In this attack, one of the servants and one of the security forces of the holy shrine were martyred, and seven people were injured.
