The wife of political prisoner in the "Jaw" Central Prison, Saeed Al-A'ali, who is on hunger and water strike, said that after her visit to him on Saturday, September 9, 2023, she felt that it was "a farewell visit." "For the first time I see him like this: weak and emaciated, his face is yellowish and his limbs are blue, and he couldn't concentrate on my words," she stated.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The wife of political prisoner in the "Jaw" Central Prison, Saeed Al-A'ali, who is on hunger and water strike, said that after her visit to him on Saturday, September 9, 2023, she felt that it was "a farewell visit." "For the first time I see him like this: weak and emaciated, his face is yellowish and his limbs are blue, and he couldn't concentrate on my words," she stated.

Wife of Al-A'ali, who is sentenced to 17 years in prison, added in an audio recording that: her husband lost 2 Kg in 2 weeks, and the sugar rate in his blood is less than 2 and he faints constantly, noting that if he asks a policeman to come to take him to the infirmary, he will wait for him [the policeman] for 6 hours, and if the policeman comes, he will handcuff him from behind and take him to the infirmary. She commented saying that the prison administration is not satisfied that he is sick, it wants to torture him and uses a policy of slow death against him.

She drew attention to the fact that her husband stopped taking "gonorrhea" medicines after his strike on food and water, as "he prefers death to staying in prison." "They will hand him to me a dead body to bury because of the intransigence of the official authorities and their lack of interest in implementing the rights of detainees stipulated in the law to solve the issue of the strike."

She revealed that her husband told her that the prison administration had intensified its repressive measures against detainees since the strike began.

She held the official authorities responsible for any harm to her husband, and wondered: "How long will the arrogance and failure to respond to the demands of the detainees last, noting that their demands are among their most basic rights stipulated by law."
