AhlulBayt News Agency: Arbaeen Hussaini marchers signed a million petition condemning the desecration of the Quran on the way of the Arbaeen march.
The desecration of the Holy Quran in some European countries, including Denmark and Sweden, in recent months has provoked the anger of Muslims around the world.
Mohammad Mojani, the head of the Quranic committee of Arbaeen Headquarters, said: "Considering the frequent desecration of the sacred area of the Holy Quran in some European countries, we prepared a statement and a petition to condemn this action, which was documented and registered with the signatures and fingerprints of millions of pilgrims."
According to the Iran Press news agency, the head of the Qur'anic committees of the Arbaeen headquarters added: "We prepared a statement and petition condemning the desecration of the Qur'an, 1,114 meters long, in order to condemn this action, and in several places, including the 1222 column of the Qur'an network, on the march route. We performed Arbaeen, which was documented and registered with the signatures and fingerprints of millions of pilgrims.
"Mojani" also said: Currently, this petition has been sent to holy Mashhad so that it can be signed by the pilgrims of Imam Reza (AS) in the last 10-day period of Safar.
The head of the Qur'anic committee of the Arbaeen headquarters said: "On this basis, we are drafting an international document for the legal pursuit of preventing the desecration of holy books, especially the Holy Qur'an, and sending it to the United Nations."
