Medical Affairs of al-Abbas shrine: 5 million beneficiaries of our medical services during Arba'een (+Photos)

The Department of Medical Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine revealed that medical care was provided to about (5) million cases during the Ziyarat Arba'een.

Ahlulbayt News Agency: The Department of Medical Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine revealed that medical care was provided to about (5) million cases during the Ziyarat Arba'een.

The head of the department, Dr. Haifa al-Tamimi, said that "the department provided medical care during the Ziyarat Arba'een period for (4,843,255) cases of visitors, varied between critical, medium and simple cases, where (2,727,378) of them were treated inside the medical detachments, while the immediate treatment service was provided for (2,109,451) cases, as for the cases of that nedded a bed were (5,468) cases, as well as (958) cases were referred to nearby hospitals," pointing to the " medical detachments did not register any case of deaths".

She added, "the Department deployed 22 detachments inside the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), its outer perimeter and the routes of visitors to the Holy Karbala, with the participation of (1,150) volunteers, divided into (400) volunteers and (750) volunteers, between doctors, paramedics and nurses, distributed to the detachments deployed at the sites of the outer holy shrine, represented by the Sheikh Kulayni Complex, Alqami Complex, Ameed University amd Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) complex to serve the visitors".

"The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine was the first supporter of the department throughout the Ziyarat, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health/ Department of operations and emergency medical services, Karbala health department, as well as the health departments in a number of Central and southern governorates," Al-Tamimi said.

For his part, the administrative assistant of the Department, Mr. Adel al-Taie, explained that"the department provided medical evacuation teams consisting of (300) people, distributed to the various detachments of the department by (5) people for each team headed by a specialist doctor; in order to assess the situation before transferring from the detachments near the place of occurrence, in addition to the preparation of more than (20) ambulances distributed to the nearby medical detachments".
