Thousands of Muslims in Indian-controlled Kashmir commemorated the Arbaeen ritual.
Mourners, by organizing the Mawakib in different corners of Kashmir, commemorated the martyrs of Karbala, which is called Chehlum in the Kashmiri language.
The biggest ceremony was held on Thursday evening in the city of Srinagar and Budgam in Kashmir, where a large number of mourners mourned the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his loyal companions.
Similar ceremonies were held in Bemina, Zadibal, Hassan-Abad, and Uri Kashmir under Indian control.
The mourners of the Martyrs of the Karbala sang a traditional Kashmiri requiem in the ceremony.
