200K pilgrims from Iran's Qom participate in Arbaeen Walk: Official

Abul Qassem Moghimi, said in the meeting of Arbaeen headquarters of Qom province, which was held in the hall of Imam Javad (PBUH) on Sunday, September 2,” The Arbaeen headquarters of Qom province has started its activities 3 months ago by establishing various committees.”

He added,” In Qom, as the "first pillar", we are proud to host the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (PBUH) before and after Arbaeen, and this opportunity has been given to us, the people of Qom.”

The vice president of cultural, social and pilgrimage of Qom governorate further stated,” According to statistics, Qom province has hosted pilgrims from 12 countries until now. The popularization of hosting Arbaeen Hosseini pilgrims was one of the good events that happened this year.”

He continued,” This year, Iranian and foreign pilgrims who travel to Qom will be hosted in the holy mosque of Jamkaran, the holy shrine of the Lady Masuma (PBUH), the blessed tombs, mosques, schools and the Arbaeen Moukeb. Until recently, about 140,000 pilgrims have been accommodated in the above-mentioned places in Qom.”

He said,” According to the statistics, more than 200,000 people from Qom have crossed the borders with Iraq to attend the Arbaeen ceremony, which is an extraordinary number and has broken previous records.”
