Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Thursday, continuing his regional tour.
Iran's top diplomat, in a closed-door meeting in Beirut with the leadership of the Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement, reminded them of the announcement of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, of the need to support the West Bank.
Amir-Abdollahian assured the leaders that “the Islamic Republic [of Iran] will not back down from its support for Palestine and will continue to support the Resistance strongly.”
For their part, the Palestinian leaders reaffirmed their commitment to Resistance as a "strategic option for the Palestinian people," stressing "not to back down from Resistance operations in the West Bank as a priority at this stage."
