AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): General Secretary of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, on Tuesday night, stated that the purpose of the US military presence in Iraq is to maintain the security of the Israeli regime and emphasized that the expulsion of American forces from Iraq is a definite and undeniable issue.
General Secretary of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, Qais al-Khazali, noted: "The US military presence in Iraq and the region has nothing to do with the security, stability and success of Iraq and the destruction of ISIS."
Qais al-Khazali, said that about 2,500 American troops are present in Ain al-Asad bases in Anbar province in the west and al-Harir in Iraqi Kurdistan. He criticized the government of Mustafa Al-Kazemi, the former Prime Minister of Iraq, and added that the Al-Kazemi government did not take any real action to end the US military presence in Iraq.
Al-Khazali also said: "the US is no longer influential and has lost its solemnity in Iraq and the region, and it will not be able to deploy its forces or increase its influence in the region."
He said that the Iraqi government along with his party will never allow an increase in the number of American soldiers.
Al-Khazali added: "The US is laying the groundwork in al-Anbar province (western Iraq) to form an another region to normalize relations with Israel."
Regarding the elections in Iraq, he also said that the decision of the Iraqi Hezbollah battalions is clear and there will be no participation in the elections.
