Road to heaven: Arba'een walking visitors reach Basra city center

Arba'een visitors coming from the southernmost province of Basra, Iraq, are continuing their march towards the holy city of Karbala.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Arba'een visitors coming from the southernmost province of Basra, Iraq, are continuing their march towards the holy city of Karbala.

Visitors old and young, children and women started their march from Ras al-Bisha in the far south of Iraq, passing by the city of al-Faw and Abu al-Khaseeb to reach the center of Basra, specifically the Saad Square area, despite the harsh conditions and the high temperatures.

Sheikh Jabbar al-Suwai'di, a resident of the province, said that "the Husseini service processions that spread on both sides of the road in the area, received the numbers of visitors with various services, including the provision of cold water, juices, food and others".

He added that "crowds of visitors came from various places to extend their codnoelnces to Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her), and Imam Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), pledged to walk forward on the path of the free-men, which he had drawn with his blood and the blood of his family (peace be upon them) and his companions".

The visitors arrived in the center of Basra al-Fayha coming from the Ras Al-Bisha area, while they will travel a distance of about 500 km to reach the Holy Karbala.

The city of Basra is the southernmost point in Iraq from which visitors depart, and the people of the southern and central provinces join them, respectively.
