In a shocking incident, a terrorist attack unfolded at the revered Shah Cheragh Holy Shrine on Sunday evening, which left 2 killed and seven injured.
According to the statement on Friday, the key element of the recent terrorist attack was directly related to the Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group's leaders.
It was in October 2022 when an armed assailant member of the ISIS terrorist group attacked the holy shrine, Shah Cheragh, which led to the martyrdom of 15 people, including two children, and the wounding of 27 pilgrims.
In the new statement, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence said during the time span between the two attacks on the Shah Cheragh shrine, 196 Daesh (or Takfiri) terrorists were either arrested or killed.
The statement added that 26 Takfiri agents were arrested in the first attack, all non-Iranian nationals from the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan.
The recent terrorist incident's element was also a Tajik national, which the Daesh group recruited through the Telegram platform, passed through Türkiye and Pakistan, was trained in Afghanistan's Badakhshan district, and finally entered Iran illegally, according to the statement.
Through the very platform, the statement added, the terrorist element made connections with the commanding generals of the terrorist operation, planned to receive the necessary instructions and weapons; and finally carried out the attack on Sunday, August 13.
Finally, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence criticized the European advocates of fighting terrorism over their silence on the recent terrorist attack and their media's happiness about it, calling it an address to the US will to revive the terrorist Daesh and re-bring it to the West Asian region.
During the US presidential campaign in 2016, then-time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted the US created Daesh.
