AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement has urged Muslim countries to take a categorical position against desecration of their sanctities, especially sacrilegious acts against the Holy Qur'an.
Abdul-Malik al-Houthi made the remarks in a televised speech on Saturday following recurrent cases of insult to Muslims’ holy book in Sweden and Denmark.
A number of Muslim countries have strongly condemned the insult to Muslims’ sanctities and summoned Danish and Swedish envoys in protest at desecration of the Holy Qur'an. Iran, for its part, has said it will not send a new ambassador to Sweden and will not accept Stockholm’s new envoy.
The Ansarullah leader said, “The Western governments oppose any criticism and slogan against Zionists and this issue proves the influence of pro-Israeli lobbies” within those governments.
Houthi also strongly slammed some Arab and Muslim countries for refraining from cutting ties with countries where the Qur'an was insulted, saying their positions prove that they do not really care about Islam.
“These [apparently Muslim] rulers prove that they lack necessary ability and qualification to shoulder this responsibility and cannot be trusted by the [Muslim] Ummah when it comes to defending their sanctities,” Houthi said.
He also censured “many Islamic organizations that have not severed diplomatic and economic relations with countries where Islam has been insulted,” noting that this proves the weakness of the Muslim world and “the low level of our commitment to defending Islam.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Ansarullah leader said the powerful Zionist lobby is active within the Western governments and provokes Europeans against Islam and Muslims.
“Western societies are submissive to Zionists and we are responsible for taking position against the plots hatched by the enemies of Islam,” he added.
The Ansarullah leader emphasized that Muslims must take categorical and powerful positions vis-à-vis Zionist lobbies in the world as well as the United States and Israel, and all those who agree to their hostile moves against the divine prophets.
In another part of his speech, Houthi said the aggression against Yemen still continues by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through direct support of the United States and the UK.
He added that although tensions and the armed conflict have decreased through mediatory efforts of Oman, “we cannot ignore the measures taken by our enemies to achieve their evil goals.”
“We cannot remain silent in the face of measures taken by Saudi Arabia and the UAE to implement the US' and UK’s plans against our nation and its natural resources,” Houthi said.
He noted that the United States is willing for the war in Yemen to continue and intends to keep parts of the country under occupation, even if it cannot occupy the entire Yemen.
“As long as Saudi Arabia remains dependent on the United States and submits to its diktats, we will be facing great problems,” the Ansarullah leader said.
Emphasizing that the Yemeni side has given enough time to mediatory efforts, Houthi said if no positive developments unravel as a result of those efforts and Saudi Arabia continues its hostile measures, “we will take a categorical position.”
“If they want peace, the path [to peace] is clear. The conditions we have set [for peace] are not impossible [to realize],” the Ansarullah leader said.
