AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): In a new development that shows the spread of the message of Ahlulbayt (as) around the world, the Shi'a community in The Republic of Cameroon under Al Thaqlain Shi'a umbrella on Sunday observed Ashura commemoration to mark the martyrdom of the holy grandson of the Prophet of Islam, Imam Husain (as).
The participants in the ritual mourning gathered at Imam Husain mosque, Duoala City of the Republic of Cameroon where Hujjatol Islam Sheikh Kamil Duala delivered a speech in French language on the sacrifice of Imam Hussain towards saving Islam from being corrupted by Yazid son of Muawiya.
Sheikh Kamil Douala in his lectures said the foundation of the Karbala massacre was laid from the meeting of some companions at Saqeefa immediately after the holy Prophet Muhammad was demised where they changed the leadership of Islam from Imam Ali whom the Prophet appointed to someone else.
Imam Hussain (as) in the year 61 AH was brutally beheaded in the desert of Karbala alongside members of his family and companions by order of the then Umayyad ruler, Yazid bin Muawiya whom both Sunni and Shi'a scholars as well as historians described as the most rude tyrant leader with immoral behavior of all time.
It is reported in hadith that the Prophet (PBUH) said, "Hussain is from me, and I am from Hussain. Allah loves whoever loves Hussain." Despite such tradition and many others that talked about the virtues of Imam Hussain, Yazid who claimed to be a Muslim murdered him and captured his family as prisoners of war.
