AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Egypt’s Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa strongly condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran and the brutal storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, noting that such acts of sacrilege would eliminate dialogue among faiths and civilizations.
In a statement released on Friday, the Awqaf Minister said heinous actions such as the burning of the Holy Quran and the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli troops and officials represent the biggest destroyer of the dialogue of religions and civilizations as well as all documents related to human fraternity.
Israel’s security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir led a group of more than one thousand settlers to the Al-Aqsa compound in the Old City of al-Quds on Thursday. It was his third such entrance to the holy site this year.
Minister Gomaa noted that some states defend such actions under the pretext of freedom of expression, which “in our view represents the ultimate meaning of double standards”.
