Tehran, Islamabad determined to fight Islamophobia: Pakistani FM

Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that Tehran and Islamabad are determined to cooperate with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on fighting against Islamophobia.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that Tehran and Islamabad are determined to cooperate with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on fighting against Islamophobia.

Zardari issued a message on Saturday and announced that he has held a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian to discuss issues of mutual interests.

During the phone conversation, the two sides slammed the recent heinous act of desecrating the Holy Quran in Sweden, Zardari added.

He noted that such Islamophobic moves will lead to the spreading of religious hatred and cannot be justified under any circumstances.

Iran's Foreign Ministry also said in a statement about the phone call that Amirabdollahian had referring to the recent Quran desecration move in Denmark and Sweden and emphasized that those actions had hurt the feelings of nearly two billion Muslims in the world.

Pointing to his recent talks with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), during which the proposal for an emergency meeting of foreign ministers of Islamic countries had been discussed, the top Iranian diplomat stressed the need to send a strong message by Islamic countries to protest acts of insult against the holy Quran.

Following a fresh anti-Islam move in Sweden, Amirabdollahian announced on Friday night that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not accept the new Swedish ambassador and will also refuse to dispatch a new ambassador to Stockholm.

Amirabdollahian has urged the Islamic nations to be united in giving a strong response to Sweden over the desecration of the holy Quran in the country.
