Photos: Setting up Muharram mourning tent in Zarghan, Iran

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The pictures show the traditional ceremony of erecting a Muharram mourning tent in Zarghan on July 16, 2023. Dating back to the Safavid Dynasty (1501-1736), the tradition is a part of mourning ceremonies held for Imam Hussein (AS) who was martyred, alongside 72 of his companions, on Ashura in the battle of Karbala against the second Umayyad caliph, Yazid I, in 680 AD.
