Prayer ceremonies have been held across Iran to celebrate Eid al-Adha, which marks the end of the hajj pilgrimage to Mecca.
Eid al-Adha prayers were conducted in mosques and prayer halls nationwide on Thursday morning.
Residents of Tehran also congregated at Tehran University to observe the prayer.
Eid al-Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, holds great importance in Islam and commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.
