The health ministry of Saudi Arabia has cautioned pilgrims about the dangers of heat exhaustion during the annual Hajj pilgrimage due to the rising temperatures.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The health ministry of Saudi Arabia has cautioned pilgrims about the dangers of heat exhaustion during the annual Hajj pilgrimage due to the rising temperatures.

The ministry has recommended avoiding physical exertion, consuming enough fluids, following health guidelines, and using umbrellas to prevent heatstroke or heat stress.

Heat exhaustion is a heat-related illness that can cause dehydration and various symptoms such as confusion, fatigue, headaches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and pale skin.

Without proper treatment, it can lead to a heatstroke that can severely harm organs and even result in fatality.

According to Saudi media outlets, 217 hospital beds have been designated in case of heatstroke among pilgrims, and security officials and volunteers have been trained to handle such cases.

Additionally, 10,000 umbrellas have been distributed, and Zamzam water is available for pilgrims at various sites during their journey.

More than two million pilgrims from across the world are performing Hajj rituals this year in Mecca as Saudi Arabia as eased covid-19 related restrictions.
