AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Identifying, paying attention to and following the religious leader is among prerequisites for completion of faith, according to the Quran.
If one fulfills all his religious obligations, pays all his debts, financial or otherwise, to people, and repents of all his sins, they would all be ineffective if he does not follow the Willayat (religious leadership), because the Quran says:
“And most surely I am most Forgiving to him who repents and believes and does good, then continues to follow the right direction.” (Verse 82 of Surah Taha)
According to Hadiths, the last part of the Surah about right direction refers to obedience to divine leadership and the Wilayat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
We read in another verse of the Holy Quran:
“That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me. He will forgive your sins …” (Verses 3-4 of Surah Nuh)
Therefore, a fundamental precondition for all good deeds is following the divine leader.
