AhlulBayt News Agency: The founder of Imam Hussein Mosque in Africa called the Iranian younger generation as flag-bearers of Islam following the Islamic Revolution and vowed the great uprising will bring about a universal change.
Dr Azad Sedat in his address to the webinar on “Rise of Unity and Awakening of Muslim World” explained how the late Imam Khomeini left profound impact on his life as a teenager tuning him to a fervid supporter of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
He noted how he and other student activists, fighting the apartheid regime of Africa, were impressed by the young students in Iran who fought to overthrow the despotic regime of Pahlavi under the leadership of Imam Khomeini.
He hailed Imam Khomeini for turning into an inspiration not only for Muslims but also for non-Muslims because they saw a figure who followed neither the east nor west and believed in neither the capitalism nor the communism.
According to Azad Sedat, the revolution led by Imam Khomeini was not a revolution that took place in the Islamic Republic of Iran but it was a culmination of the revolution that took place in Karbala.
He stressed the responsibility of Iranian nation to safeguard the Islamic Revolution and said,” The responsibility is upon the youngsters in Iran and not to abandon the causes of this revolution because this revolution by Imam Khomeini is the uprising that the entire world was inspired by.”
He noted,” Imam Khomeini brought not only the unity of Shia and Sunni but the unity of the entire world.”
No matter what religion they follow, the people in South Africa respect Imam Khomeini for the great contribution and the divine message that he brought about in his life.
A number of religious, cultural and political elites expressed their views at the webinar on “Imam Khomeini, rise of unity and awakening of Muslim world” held by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
