AhlulBayt News Agency: Ammar al-Hakim, the leader of Iraq’s Al-Hikma (Wisdom) Movement, met with the head of Egypt’s Al-Azhar Islamic Center Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb.
A number of other officials from the two sides were also present at the meeting.
Iraqi media have described the meeting on Monday morning as cordial.
Heading a delegation, Al-Hakim has traveled to the Egyptian capital for talks with the North African country’s official.
The Iraqi delegation also met with Egypt’s president and foreign minister on Sunday.
During the talks, al-Hakim underlined the need for maintaining the current positive trend in regional relations in order to enhance regional security and stability.
He also warned about challenges that the region would face in case this trend is weakened.
