AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A number of civilian and military officials as well as Sunni and Shia scholars took part in a funeral ceremony for five border guards, who were martyred in a clash with an armed group.
The deputy commander of police forces, commander of border guards, governor-general of Sistan and Baluchestan province, as well as several people from all walks of life, participated in the funeral procession in the city of Zahedan on Monday.
The border guards were martyred in Saravan in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan near the border with Pakistan.
Late on Saturday, some terrorists raided a border security checkpoint in Saravan, which was faced with powerful defense, so the terrorists were forced to retreat to Pakistan’s soil.
As a result of the confrontation, five border guards were martyred and two others were wounded.
