AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi, during his visit to Syria, on Wednesday met with a group of families of martyrs of resistance from a number of regional countries.
President Raisi met and held talks with the families of martyrs of resistance from Syria, Lebanon, Iran and Afghanistan, among others.
The meeting took place in the Zeinabyah neighborhood of the Syrian capital Damascus. Located in the southern suburbs of the city, Zeinabyah is home to the holy shrine of Hazrat Zeinab, the daughter of the first Shia imam, Imam Ali (AS), and the granddaughter of the Prophet Mohammad.
Raisi also paid a visit to Hazrat Zeinab’s holy shrine on Wednesday, the first day of his landmark trip to Syria that marks the first by an Iranian president to the Arab country since it was gripped by war and foreign-backed militancy in 2011.
