AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A Quranic circle is planned to be held here today with the participation of Quranic women from Iran and elsewhere in the Muslim world.
Dubbed Khayrat Hisan, it will be organized on Thursday afternoon, the 29th day of the holy month of Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
The Vahdat Hall in the capital Tehran will host the Quranic program.
Tens of female Quranic activists, including memorizers, reciters, and officials of Quranic institutes from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Indonesia and other countries will take part in the Quranic event.
It will include recitation of the Quran and choral recitations by teenage groups.
A number of top Quranic women of the Muslim world will also be honored at the program.
Ramadan, which will end in Eid al-Fitr either on Friday or Saturday based on sighting the crescent moon of the month of Shawwal, is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.
They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
