International Quds Day held in South Africa

South Africans have come out in major cities across the country to mark International Quds Day, the day of the oppressed.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): South Africans have come out in major cities across the country to mark International Quds Day, the day of the oppressed.

In Cape Town, hundreds marched through the streets of the city center to the gates of parliament where a memorandum was handed over to a representative of the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation (Foreign Affairs). South Africa has downscaled relations with the Israeli entity by withdrawing its ambassador, but Pretoria still hosts the Israeli Ambassador and mission. Protestors want the country to sever ties with the Israeli regime and to impose sanctions, similar to those imposed against the White regime in South Africa when it instituted the Apartheid system of racial segregation in the country.

Faiz Jacob who is member of Parliament in African National Congress, Wahida Shaik from Qibla Movement, and Mogamat Groenewald who is a protestor had their take on the issue.
