Amirabdollahian describes Palestine as still significant issue of Islamic world

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Quds Day that the issue of Palestine is still an essential issue of the Islamic world and should not be diminished due to other regional and international developments.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Quds Day that the issue of Palestine is still an essential issue of the Islamic world and should not be diminished due to other regional and international developments.

Amirabdollahian wrote a memo on the occasion of International Quds Day in the Lebanese Al Akhbar News Paper and noted that more than four decades after Imam Khomeini (RA) set the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as "Quds Day", the day of unity of Muslim nations, regional and global equations promise clear prospects in the Palestinian issue.

He highlighted that undoubtedly, the issue of Palestine is still the most important issue of the Islamic world and it should not be diminished in the wake of other regional and international developments.

Undoubtedly the continuation of Zionist violence against the Palestinians will have no result other than enhancing the unity and strengthening the determination of the Palestinians in resisting the Zionist occupation, he further noted.

History proves that the occupying and expansionist nature of the Zionist regime is incompatible with stability, security, and peace in the region, and this regime has defined its strategy of maintaining its security and survival in continuous and insidious attempts to infiltrate, create discord, animosity, conflict and war among Islamic state, the top Iranian diplomat underlined.

Amirabdollahian also expressed hope that the world will soon witness the liberation of the first Qibla of Muslims from the invaders.

Late Imam Khomeini designated the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as Quds Day on August 7, 1979, in a bid to hinder the distortion of history by the Zionist regime and to show support for the oppressed nation of Palestine.

Since that year, Muslims and freedom-loving nations commemorate the great event to stand against ignoring crimes committed by the occupying regime every last Friday of Ramadan.
