AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Hezbollah Secretary General Sayed Hassan Nasrallah called on Muslims to massively take part in the upcoming rallies marking the International Quds Day.
In an address on Friday, Nasrallah said massive presence in the rallies is part of the efforts by the people of the region to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque and al-Quds.
He referred to the recent developments in southern Lebanon, holy city ofal-Quds, the West Bank and Syria, saying they are all related, Al-Manar reported.
He added that he will talks about these developments in details next Friday, marking the International Quds Day.
The International Quds Day is a legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, who designated the day in solidarity with Palestinians.
Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, the International Quds Day has been held worldwide on the last Friday of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
This year, the International Quds Day falls on Friday, April 14.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement held a rally in southern Beirut yesterday in solidarity with the Palestinian people and al-Aqsa Mosque.
The participants chanted slogans in support of the Palestinian cause and condemnation of the Zionist regime’s aggressions on Palestinian sanctities.
Addressing the rally, Vice President of the Executive Council of Hezbollah Sheikh Ali Damoush stressed that Al-Aqsa is not alone as more than a billion Muslims are ready to sacrifice their life to defend it and other sanctities in al-Quds.
He also reiterated the solidarity of Hezbollah and the Lebanese people with the Palestinian people and resistance groups.
His remarks came amid a new wave of Israeli hostilities against Palestinian people during the fasting month of Ramadan.
On Wednesday night, and for a second night in a row, heavily-armed Israeli forces stormed Muslims' third holiest site and removed peaceful worshippers who were staying at the site to observe Itikaf, a non-mandatory ritual usually held in Ramadan.
Videos from the raid on Tuesday show the occupation forces brutally beating defenseless worshipers with batons and riot guns. Dozens of Palestinians were wounded and arrested in the attack.
Many Muslim countries and organizations have strongly condemned the latest aggression, calling on international bodies to stop Israeli crimes and protect the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
The regime forces also launched attacks on targets in Lebanon and Gaza on Thursday following the firing of retaliatory rockets over the regime’s attacks on Palestinian worshippers inside al-Aqsa.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is set to hold an emergency, open-ended meeting of the Executive Committee at the level of Permanent Representatives, on Saturday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to discuss the Israeli incursions and attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque.
