AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Officials of the educational center of Serbia’s Islamic community voiced readiness and eagerness to welcome Iranian Quran reciters in the country during the holy month of Ramadan.
Iranian Ambassador to Serbia Rashid Hassanpour and the cultural attaché, Amir Pourpezeshk, met with a number of Serbian Muslim community officials, including Sheikh Mustafa Yusuf Spahic, director of the educational center Musa Abu Sabi’a, and imam of Birakli Mosque in Belgrade Ramadan Mahdi.
During the meeting, Abu Sabi’a referred to the activities of the Islamic community and the center, saying those running the center are keen to expand ties with Iran.
He said the center is eager to welcome Iranian Quran memorizers and reciters during the holy month of Ramadan and also benefit from the expertise of Iranian scholars and instructors.
He noted that the center has 50 students who study Islamic and Fiqhi sciences as well as other sciences like biology, sociology, educational sciences, and foreign languages.
The Iranian envoys also underlined Iran’s resolve to strengthen ties with Serbia’s Islamic community, using all the available capacities.
The holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims all around the world fast from dawn to sunset, will likely start on March 23.
Every year, top Iranian qaris travel to different countries during Ramadan to recite the Quran and hold Quranic programs.
