AhlulBayt News Agency: Interim Friday prayer leader of Tehran called holy Qur’an as an axis for unity in the world of Islam and stressed cultural programs like the international Qur’an competitions as a giant step in line with materialization of the objective.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami, interim Friday prayer leader of Tehran in an interview with Iran’s Qur’an News Agency (IQNA) hailed the 39th International Qur’an Competition as the grounds for boosting solidarity among Islamic countries.
He condemned the arrogant powers for inducing the world with the lie that Shias see holy Qur’an as a distorted book and said,” To hold international Qur’an competition reveals their lies because our holy Qur’an is the Qur’an read by the entire world of Islam.”
Ayatollah Khatami lauded the international Qur’an competition as an admirable and valuable measure in line with objectives of the Muslim world.
He said,” The stance of Islamic Republic of Iran among Muslim states will be boosted by hosting international Qur’an competitions.”
39th International Qur’an Competitions kicked off on Friday as a number of officials and participants from across the globe attended the ceremony in the Iranian capital Tehran.
