Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari: Desecration of religious sanctities promotes hate speech

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought warned of desecration of religious sanctities belonging to other faiths and promotion of hate speech, hostility among followers of different religions.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought warned of desecration of religious sanctities belonging to other faiths and promotion of hate speech, hostility among followers of different religions.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, in an interview following pilgrimage to holy shrine of Yahya ibn Zaid in Gonbad-e Kavus, called desecration of religious sanctities as an inhumane behavior which threatens peace and security in the global community.
 
He hailed the wisdom of the Supreme Leader in warning the people on the negative aspects of desecration and also the fatwa issued by Ayatollah Khamenei which bans sacrilege of sanctities belonging to other denominations.
 
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought called Islam as a religion of peace and reconciliation and said,” Islam is derived from the word “Salam” meaning security and friendship. It is a name of Almighty God and if we intend peace and friendship to prevail the world, we should respect religious sanctities.”
 
Senior cleric expressed regret that claimants of freedom are in fact promoting violence and breach the human rights in the world.
 
According to the cleric these constant desecrations of Islamic sanctities will eventually threaten their security.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari is visiting Iran’s northern Province of Golestan to attend the second Regional Islamic Unity Conference.
 
The international meeting is participated by prominent Shia and Sunni scholars from Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
