AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami said on Tuesday that the IRGC is ready to provide support for the Syrian forces in different areas.
General Salami made the remarks speaking during a meeting in Tehran with visiting Syrian Defense Minister Ali Mahmoud Abbas.
He referred to the joint war of Iranian and Syrian forces against the takfiri terrorists in the Syrian soil and said that the Iranian forces regard Syria as their own home country.
What connects Iran and Syria is not national interests, rather it is Islam and the Muslim dignity that connects the two nations, the commander said.
He also appreciated the support of Syria's late President Hafez al-Assad for Iran during a 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war, saying "We are brothers of tough times."
