AhlulBayt World Assembly condemns desecration of holy Quran in Sweden

Following the insulting action of Rasmus Paludan, the Danish-Swedish extremist politician, in burning the Holy Quran, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly issued a statement and while denouncing this hateful act, considered it a move to promote Islamophobia, spreading hatred and division between societies and people.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Following the insulting action of Rasmus Paludan, the Danish-Swedish extremist politician, in burning the Holy Quran, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly issued a statement and while denouncing this hateful act, considered it a move to promote Islamophobia, spreading hatred and division between societies and people.

The statement reads in part, “This heinous move is the continuation of the dark history of insulting Muslims, and it is due to their evil thinking and approach to remove the moral, spiritual, and legal values and standards of humanity, which is supported and incited by global arrogance and criminal international Zionism.”

The statement of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Almighty

The brutal act of burning the Holy Quran, the holy book of over two billion Muslims around the world, has generated disgust, anger and outrage among the followers of the last divine religion, the Islam and the Noble Quran. Unfortunately, once again, this unreasonable and anti-human rights action has taken place in Sweden, where human rights are supposed to be respected.

This outrageous action follows the recent shameless initiative of that infamous and mercenary French newspaper to offend the world's top religious authority of Islam and the supreme authority of Shia, which points to the desperation of the global arrogance bloc and international criminal Zionism in confronting Islam and the Muslims of the world.

The West, which claims, through hypocritical and deafening propaganda, to respect human rights, under the pretext of freedom of expression and on the basis of its own presumptuousness, allows and authorizes to offend the sacredness and religious values of other peoples, including Muslims. This heinous move is in line with the nefarious current of insults and slurs against Muslims, stemming from their evil thinking and their approach to erasing humanity's moral, spiritual and legal values and standards. This inhumane and satanic move is supported and incited by the global warmongering hubris and international criminal Zionism.

The Ahl ul-Bayt (a.s.) World Assembly strongly expresses its condemnation and outrage against this offensive action and considers it in line with the promotion of anti-Islamism, to spread hatred and division among societies and the peoples of the world.

The Ahl ul-Bayt (a.s.) World Assembly condemns the misuse of the concept of free speech for anti-cultural actions and profanation of the sacredness and values of the followers of religions, including Muslims, human dignity and high morality and of religious values of other countries and nations of the world and strongly warns and requests the officials of Sweden to prevent the emergence and continuation of such anti-cultural and inhumane tendencies and to fulfill their duty to counteract inhumane movements and spreading of hatred racist.

The Ahl ul-Bayt (a.s.) World Assembly invites all lovers of true and just freedom and informed and conscientious people of the world to prevent and oppose any kind of offensive action against the religious sacredness of others, as well as the anti-Islamism and ignorant Islamophobia, with the excuse of the demonstration of freedom of speech - which, unfortunately, in many European countries is considered a normal and usual thing -; to address and emphasize the importance of removing the abuse of the value of free speech and not to stop until this legitimate demand is met.

Government officials from different countries of the world, scholars of different religions have the duty to fulfill their important responsibility of preventing any offensive action against other people, developing and strengthening the foundations of peaceful coexistence, respecting the rights of others, not offending sacredness and religious values of others, to promote spirituality and respect for religious concepts, ethics and humanity in the world and to commit and strive for the realization of the mentioned concepts.
