Karbala hosting int’l conference on Seerah of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.)

An international conference titled Kawthar of Ismat has been organized at the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) in Karbala, Iraq, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA).

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): An international conference titled Kawthar of Ismat has been organized at the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) in Karbala, Iraq, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA).

Scholars and religious figures from 23 Asian, European and African countries have taken part in the conference, which features the Seerah of Hazrat Zahra (SA).

The Astan (custodianship) of the holy shrine has organized the event, which got underway on Friday.

There is also an exhibition of books and artworks mounted on the sidelines of the conference.

According to Sheikh Ali al-Qarawi, director of the conference’s scholarly committee, 113 abstract papers have been submitted to the secretariat of the event and that ten papers will be presented in the research panel.

He said the papers are about the life, Seerah, sermons and thoughts of Hazrat Zahra (SA).

Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalayi, the custodian of the holy shrine, in an address to the conference described Hazrat Zahra (SA) as a comprehensive role model.

He added that women and girls should learn about the greatness and perfect character of Hazrat Zahra (SA) and follow her as a role model in all aspects of life.

Sheikh Al-Karbalayi also noted that an annual competition on the best book, thesis and story written on the life of Hazrat Zahra (SA) is planned to be held by the Astan.

Attending the international conference was a 12-strong delegation of Iranian women Quran activists that has been dispatched to Iraq by the Kawthar Foundation for International Quranic Activities of Women.

The delegation has held a number of Quranic programs in the cities of Karbala and Najaf during their stay in Iraq.
