AhlulBayt News agency: The ceremony for the third-anniversary martyrdom of Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani was held at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic in Yerevan with the presence of several Armenian representatives of the Iranian Parliament.

Referring to the role of Martyr Soleimani in expanding the relations between Tehran and Yerevan, Abbas Badakhshan Zohoori, Iranian ambassador to Armenia, said the relations between Iran and Armenia are historical and strong, and these relations are expanding within the framework of the interests of the two nations.

Zahoori emphasized that the martyred commander was an anonymous Mujaheed and all his actions were for the sake of God.

Robert Beglaryan the representative of the Armenian community of southern Iran in Parliament, said the Iranian Christian community has great respect for General Soleimani.

General Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Second-in-Command Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were assassinated along with their companions in a US drone strike authorized by the former US President Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

General Soleimani and his companions were highly popular because of their key role in eliminating the US-backed ISIS terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.

General Soleimani was assassinated by the US while he was in Baghdad at the official invitation of the Iraqi government.
