Al-Abbas shrine covered in black for commemoration of Lady al-Zahra Martyrdom

"The holy shrine has spread black banners as a sign of sadness and commemoration of the Fatimi season of sorrow and the martyrdom anniversary of Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her). Black banners will be spread in the streets of the Old City as well," Khalil Mahdi Mohammed Hanoun, head of the Courtyard Care Department, stated to The News Center.

Hanoun added that "the black banners are hung in the Holy Courtyard with phrases indicating the injustice of the oppressed immaculate Lady (peace be upon her)," pointing out that "the work of commemorating this sad anniversary will continue for more than 20 days, including the establishment of councils, lectures and exhibition."
