AhlulBayt News Agency: Al-Zahra University (peace be upon her) for Women in holy city of Karbala organized the activities of its annual festival to empower people with disabilities.
The activities came in cooperation with the Division of the Blind and Visually Impaired at Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, and will continue for six days, in the presence of a number of cultural, media and security personalities, as well as university professors and students.
The President of Al-Zahra University, Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, said, "The university launched the activities of the cultural week (3-8 December), coinciding with the fourth anniversary of its establishment. The first activity of the festival was dedicated to the people with disabilities and in cooperation with the Blind and Visually Impaired Division at Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and Al-Sarraj Association.”
She indicated, "The Department of Education continues to cooperate with the College of Education to hold such festivals that serve the community and serve the marginalized segments of society.”
Al-Sultani indicated, "The festival included many activities, including a theatrical performance on the university stage presented by a group of blind people, in addition to various shows and exhibitions of creative activities presented by several institutions concerned with sponsoring this segment of society.”
