Oman’s top mufti thanks Muslims for refusing to talk with Zionist reporters

Oman’s top mufti has appreciated the way people have refused to talk with Israeli reporters during the 2022 World Cup.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Oman’s top mufti has appreciated the way people have refused to talk with Israeli reporters during the 2022 World Cup.

In a post on his Twitter account, Oman's Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmed Bin Hamad Al-Khalili expressed thanks to those who have snubbed the Zionists.

He praised Qataris and other Arab and Muslim brothers who refused to talk with representatives of the Zionist regime and described them as occupiers that have no right in the Palestinian lands.

This shows the good condition of the Muslim Ummah, he added.

The remarks come as there have been numerous reports on the rejection of Israeli journalists during the event by Arab fans.

Israeli Channel 12’s reporter admitted that “almost all the Arab fans we meet and introduce ourselves to generally refuse to speak to us. But there was a group of Lebanese young men, whose attitude changed 180 degrees the moment we told them that we are from Israel.”

A video circulating across social media shows Lebanese fans walking away as soon as the reporter said, “I am from Israel,” asking him “why are you even here?”

“There is no such thing as Israel. It is Palestine. Israel does not exist,” argued the Lebanese fan.

Another video showed two Saudi fans refusing to speak to a reporter after he said he was from “Israeli TV.”

Social media users had previously published a short video showing a Qatari citizen refusing to be interviewed by an Israeli channel in Souq Waqif in Doha.
