AhlulBayt News Agency: The staff of the Engineering Projects Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has started the rehabilitation of the al-'Alqami gate of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
The head of the Department, engineer Dea' Majeed al-Sa'egh, said: "the stage of development and modernization at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has reached al-'Alqami gate, which is one of the most important entrances to the holy shrine. The rehabilitation works carried out successively will include the removal of old building materials, and conducting comprehensive maintenance work for each gate, using special materials that preserve and prolong its life, in addition to wiring all service systems and linking them with their consorts in the holy shrine, from surveillance cameras, electricity, communications, alarm and others."
He added that "the works will also include the implementation of the design prepared for this gate, which is located in the western part of the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), and its pavilion that connects it with the new gate, and with a design that is architecturally and technically in harmony with its external entrance on the one hand and with the holy shrine on the other, to make the old Gates from the inside an integral part of its external entrances".
According to al-Sa'egh: "the horizontal expansion project of the Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) has included many sub-projects, which together constitute the main and most prominent title of this large and vital project, which our holy shrines have not been familiar with for many centuries, and one of these projects is the expansion of the gates of the holy shrine (the main entrances), and making it an incubator for the old Gates".
