The head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) called for the expansion of relations between the Islamic seminaries of Qom in Iran and Najaf in Iraq.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) called for the expansion of relations between the Islamic seminaries of Qom in Iran and Najaf in Iraq.

Speaking at a gathering of presidents of Iraqi universities coming to Iran to attend the Umana al-Rusul international congress, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Mehdi Imanipour said Iran and Iraq need to promote and deepen their ties in all areas.

Referring to the enemies’ extensive onslaughts on scholarly and seminary relations between the two Muslim countries, he said there should be efforts to develop the interactions and cooperation between the great seminary schools of Qom and Najaf.

Hojat-ol-Islam Imanipour added that providing high-quality education to seminary students from Iran going to Najaf and Iraqi seminary students coming to Qom is important.

While maintaining the their independence, the two major seminary schools should enhance their cooperation in different fields, including exchanging experiences in the field of developing new theories and production of software featuring major religious books, he noted.

Highlighting the needs of the day, such as the need to be equipped with the latest technologies and sciences in order to promote the teachings of Islam at the international level, the ICRO chief said the Noor Computer Research Center of Islamic Sciences in Qom has managed to make great strides in providing Islamic texts in the digital space.
