Malaysia interior ministry confiscate Quran copies printed without Approval

Malaysia’s interior ministry said it has seized more than 6,000 copies of the Holy Quran that have been printed without the required approval.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Malaysia’s interior ministry said it has seized more than 6,000 copies of the Holy Quran that have been printed without the required approval.

A total of 6,914 copies of the Quran without approval were seized by the ministry’s enforcement and monitoring department, it said, the Sun Daily reported.

They were found in the northwestern state of Kedah Province before being distributed, the ministry added.

 A dealer who is a local man in his 40s was detained for questioning about the copies, it said.

The confiscation involved 2,874 Qurans, 4,024 Quranic materials and 16 units of publication materials in the form of books, which are estimated to be worth RM563,370.

The department’s secretary, Nik Yusaimi Yusoff said, a team of members from the Putrajaya and Kedah KDN headquarters inspected a premises that was used as a sales place and a store for storing Quran copies and Quranic books.
